The place is most known for its’ 45-foot (13.7m) waterfall, which is on Kamananui Stream that flows from the north end of the Ko’olau Mountains on the Windward side of Oahu all the way through Waimea Valley and joins the Waimea River to the ocean.

There just wasn’t anything majestic about a waterfall stuffed full of people with life jackets on, or people standing in line forever to get a life jacket so they can brave the slippery rocks and swim with a sea of humanity. Definitely not what I pictured my Hawaiian waterfall experience to be.
