Why is it called Tyrebagger?
TYREBAGGER Hill is nothing to do with the automotive industries – it comes from Tìr a’ bhalgaire, Gaelic for the land of the fox. Although marked as Tyrebagger Hill on OS Maps, it is called Tappie Tower by the Forestry Commission, after the 19th century folly on top.
