How do I get Citi certified?
To register for the CITI course, click Register for the CITI Course. You will then be asked to choose your institution. Individuals from Hunter College should choose Participating Institutions from the drop down menu, and then choose City University of New York (CUNY). Click Submit.

How long is Citi training?
How long will it take to complete the course? Each CITI module has text to read and a quiz to complete. The average learner spends approximately 4.5 hrs in the Basic Course site and approximately 1.5 hours if your site requires additional modules. The Refresher Training will take approximately 2 hours.
Does CITI Program report cheating?
CITI Program and Subscribing Organizations take training requirements very seriously. Allegations of inappropriate use will be investigated, and the results may be reported to the organization(s) with which a learner is affiliated. Inappropriate use may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
Does Citi certification expire?
Share: CITI training courses expire every 3 years and CITI will send e-mail reminders 90 days before your courses expire. The refresher courses are automatically added to your curriculum, and will be visible, when you log into your account.

How often does Citi training need to be completed?

The CITI certification in Human Subjects must be renewed every three years. If you do not renew your certification the IRB will not be able to process applications, renewals or modifications to your study. The refresher coursework is shorter than the original course taken for your training.
Is the CITI Program free?
You can register now to take CITI Program content assigned to you by your organization for no charge. If you need training not provided by your organization, you can register as an independent learner and purchase the content required.
Can you take Citi training at Emory University?
Emory IRB may ask for an attestation (as part of a reliance agreement) that the other institution has confirmed their training completion; or we may ask for the training certificates. Outside collaborators who are independent, or are from institutions without human research programs, should take Emory CITI.
